Eyes of my childhood

my eyes still hold the remains of my childhood,
they are still more innocent than my demeanor presents
they hold the memories of when I first saw my mother
smile while holding me in her arms,
they remember the first sunrise i saw.

my eyes still hold the remains of my childhood,
they have recorded my first wound,
they still know the taste of my first tear.
they have preserved my childhood senses.

my eyes still have the memories of my first crush,
they can tell how much my eyes lit up
when he first called out my name.
my eyes know how they used to forget
blinking when they landed on him.

my eyes are like museum, preserving
all the invaluable assets of my memories
they have kept the glow in my eyes safe,
they have preserved the warmth of my childhood days.

my eyes still have some childlike freshness,
they are waiting for me to revisit the lanes of childhood
my eyes closed upon my childhood,
as I walked into the hurdles of adulthood,
locking it in for some day I realize
what true treasure childhood was.
