Energy

Neither be created , nor be destroyed

When I came across the concept of thermodynamics in school, there was this one fact about energy that caught my attention. The first law of thermodynamics says that Energy can neither be created nor be destroyed. It can only be changed from one form to other. Which brought me to this thought that what about humans? What about our energies, the ones we possess in our mind and heart the energies we feel, the vitality we acquire with life experiences. Let us look at some of the ways we utilize, de utilize or convert our varied energies.

  • Happiness – when a person feels happy, act happy, it makes others happy. Happiness ignites positivity and improves our surroundings and relationships. If a person feels cheerful, their happy energy shines upon their surrounding as well.
  • Positivity – positive thoughts and positive work lead to positive results, better self-growth, better mental state and more positive environment. It also creates Rationality, peace, self-confidence and contentment.
  • Love – when one feels love, all feel love. Harmony and love is generated all around. Feeling of security and belongingness generates. Love is an emotion which holds such zeal within itself that it can make everything seem good. Such a heavenly form of energy it is.
  • Grief – when heart feels pain and sorrow, it reflects in our thoughts, actions and words. Thereby it also impacts those who are close to us at that moment. Be it any fellow human, or the atmosphere. The sorrow we feel fills our environment with a similar grievous vibe. Sadness dilutes the vibe of a happy moment. Though that doesn’t make it an emotion to be avoided or despised but like other emotions this also has an energy of its own, and even this energy isn’t left from getting transferred.
  • Anger – when a person is angry, they tend to vent it out which it shows that this emotion has its energy, which is so agile that it tends to transfer itself to others.

So in this way we can see, that whatever we feel and possess in our psyche has a certain energy of its own. And like all other forms of energies it can’t be destroyed. However we can control where and how to utilize these various energy forms. Because any form of energy can be used in positive as well as negative ways. Being over indulged in our own happiness might make u seem arrogant, or over usage of any certain energy might lead to more destruction than anything else. Similarly being too engrossed in just one of the energies or emotions might lead to depreciation in our growth as an individual. Sometimes we also need to understand and communicate with our energy well, for instance there are very fine differences in different energies to much positivity, might lead to procrastination or it might carry us away from practicality.

some famous quotes which inspired me with respect to this topic are:

The energy of the mind is the essence of life

aristotle

Rage — whether in reaction to social injustice, or to our leaders’ insanity, or to those who threaten or harm us — is a powerful energy that, with diligent practice, can be transformed into fierce compassion.

Bonnie Myotai Treace

When you die, the energy that kept you alive filters into the people you loved. Did you know that? It’s like a fire you’ve tended all your life, and the sparks are all scattered into the wind…. That’s why we survive as long as we do, because the people who loved us keep us going.
